Eagle Rock Loop: 2 maps covering 27 miles in the heart of the Ouachitas. Best hike in the Ouachitas and Ozarks.

Ouachita Trail (OT): 29 topos covering 223 miles from Talihina OK to west of Little Rock AR.

Ozark Highlands Trail (OHT): 17 topo maps covering 165 miles from Lake Fort Smith AR to Woolum AR on the Buffalo River.

Buffalo River Trail: Several sections including the 36 mile, four map set from Boxley to Priutt. Use the National River to combined a canoe and backpacking trip.

Buckeye-Caney Creek Trail: 9.4 miles thru the Caney Creek Wilderness, but expandable to include a visit the Cossotot River. Beautiful hike with plenty of water.

Boardstand-Old Military Road Loop: 22 miles combining the Boardstand, Old Mil and the OT on the Oklahoma side of the Ouachitas. Experience the first section of the OT without the need for a shuttle.

Butterfield Trail: The 15 mile trail in Devils Den State Park south of Fayetteville AR offers a rugged overnight hike in the Ozark Plateau.

White Rock-Shores Lake Loop: This 13 mile loop combines the named trail and the OHT around White Rock Mt. Nice vistas and creeks and a good climb.

North Sylamore Creek Trail: A 23-mile point-to-point that features beautiful sandstone bluffs rising out of crystal clear N. Sylamore Ck.

Other Oklahoma Hikes

Beech Creek Trails: 33 miles of trail in the rugged Beech Creek National Scenic and Botanical Area established in Oklahoma because it is the western edge of the American beech forest.

Choctaw Nation Trail (CNT): A 43 mile multi-use trail in the OK Ouachitas running from the Holson Valley to the Billy Creek trailhead. Segments can be used to form numberous loop trails with the OT.

Greenleaf Trail: A 17 mile loop in Greenleaf State Park near Muskogee. Enjoy the rugged terrain of the Ozark flank.

Holson Valley: This is a 22 mile loop using the Ouachita Trail, Choctaw Nation Trail and several others.

Robbers Cave State Park: 25 miles of trail with 2 back-country campsites. Combine the trails for a "mega loop".

Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness: Lots of trails for day-hiking and exploring on the edge of Tulsa OK.

Other Arkansas Hikes

Black Fork Trail: An 11 mile up-and-back on Black Fork Mt of the Arkansas Ouachitas. There is water at the top and a good campsite in the stunted oak.

Cossatot River Corridor Trail: The 12.4 mile trail follows the Cossatot River near Wickes AR.

Mount Magazine Trail: The 9.8 mile trail stretches between Mt Magazine, the highest mountain in AR and Cove Lake.

OHT-Sylamore Section: This 31 mile section of the OHT is separated from the main OHT terminus at Woolum by 25 miles. It generally runs from Big Flat to Norfork AR.
